The SDBE project will be delivering a series of training events for students, researchers, professionals and practitioners from Egypt. These aim to increase knowledge and skills in the field of sustainability of the built environment.
Training has been designed following a literature review of educational techniques and a series of stakeholder events. Training will be delivered through an innovative programme based on expert led knowledge exchange, problem based learning and real world research.
The main topics to be addressed throughout the training programme include sustainable urban design, waste management, water, air and noise pollution, climate change adaptation, energy efficiency, renewable energy, thermal comfort and building occupants’ behaviour.
These main topics will be brought together under the following themes, which will form the structure for the training events.
- Theme 1: Passive Cooling and Natural Ventilation
- Theme 2: Sustainable Design Principles: Low Carbon Strategies
- Theme 3: Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
- Theme 4: UEL-ASU Dual Degree Framework
